You have the power within you to heal, transform and liberate others with your story. Plain and simple… it’s a done deal. Yet, may aspiring messengers and authors face blocks and challenges that keep their story bottled up inside rather than shared with others on the page and in spoken word.
Today, my desire is to help you realize the value and power of your story. No matter if you’ve faced death, abuse, divorce, cancer, etc. Or you’ve experienced the transformation of everyday life on earth. Your story matters.
Think about this for a moment… one of the most successful books of all time is the “Chicken Soup for the Soul Series” by Mark Victor Hanson and Jack Canfield. Millions upon millions of books have been sold under that series and Mark and Jack didn’t even write it.
The book’s success was based on the power of the stories of the contributors. The NY Times best-seller status happened because lots of people (many of them “unknowns”) were willing to open the doors to their heart, to liberate the story in their soul and share what needed to be shared.
The emotion on the page, the purity and truth of the words, the depth of their pain and the elation of their healing and transformation was what had those books fly off the shelf and break records around the world.
So the next time you doubt if your story is powerful, or would make a difference… let the runaway and continued success of “Chicken Soup for the Soul” and my own “Pebbles in the Pond” series’ be your inspiration.
This time last year, dozens of authors reading my ezine – just like you are now – had no idea that less than a year later their words would be featured on a book that’s sold nearly two thousand copies in the first 48 hours it launched. They had no idea the hope and healing they’d make possible for others… nor did they imagine the transformation that would unfold for them through the sharing of their story.
Here are a few comments they never expected to see on Amazon when just a year ago, the dream of publishing their story felt impossible. Read these as inspiration to help you connect with the power of your story and to believe it IS possible and it DOES matter… and to envision what it would be like to see such reviews posted about YOUR story…
- “It was moving to hear the personal transformations of others. It’s easy to forget as we go about our day to day that those we come across may have powerful messages to share. Pebbles in the Pond gave me a greater glimpse into the powerful messages that resides within others. Definitely inspiring and uplifting, a pleasant reminder of the journey we are all on, and the miracles that wait to reveal themselves to us around any and every corner.”
- “I am moved by the candor of these authors in sharing their life experiences. Each experience is deeply personal. Each author’s courage in transforming her experience into positive life change is unique. But the thread of positive life change in the face of potentially devastating challenge weaves a common cloth of inspirational transformation. They’ve done it; I can do it!”
- “This book made me laugh, made me cry, remember, reflect and encouraged me to submit my own story. So very powerful and beautifully done I read it in one sitting and know I’ll read it more than once. Although all the stories are very different I found the same universal message: We are all soulful, beautiful and have the power to move mountains and change the world.”
- “What an incredibly uplifting and inspiring book full of real stories expressed from the heart. I felt moved by the words of transformation and blind faith. A must-read!”
Bottom line is we thrive on stories. We remember stories; we transform and heal through stories; we connect through stories; we weave a web of humanity… through stories.
So, please remember this as you contemplate your own story and the desire in your heart to set it free to impact others. I know you can do it!
